Discipline of Industrial Economics

The industrial economics discipline is a key discipline in Jiangsu province with a stable academic team and resonable echelon. By the end of 2001 there were five professors and ten asociate professors, two of which have doctorate degrees and four of which are studying for a doctorate.

The Research attaches much importance to the research of business industrial organisation and structure, reveals the law and the reasons of business industrial structure development, by analysing its structure and seeks for the common trend in business industrial development.

Dean of Chinese Industrial Structure and Policies Research Orientation two: Chinese Industrial Structure and Policies Research
The Research goes further into adjustment goal and policies of Chinese industrial structures and policies, with the characteristic of Chinese industrialisation and process taken into consideration. It combines scientific research with the requirements of Jiangsu Economic and related industrial development, makes great contributions to the adjustment of regional industrial structure and formulation of industrial policies.

The particularity in the value of food brings about its important role in social development. The Chinese grain issue will be confronted with many new choices after entry into the WTO. The university used to be attached to the Ministry of Grain. Even today it still has the only Grain Economics Research Institute in China. The university has made greate achievements through years of research. It has formed a reasonable eschelon and has undertaken a lot of grain research programs. Many research papers have been published. The university has provided a lot of advice on formulating national and regional grain policies.
